Wigan Athletic can confirm the signing of West Bromwich Albion defender Donervon Daniels.
The 6’1’ 21-year-old defender spent time on loan with Aberdeen and Blackpool last season and has also had spells at Gillingham and Tranmere Rovers after coming through the academy system at The Hawthorns.
With his contract due to expire this week, Latics’ recruitment team targeted him this summer and, after completing a medical and signing a three year deal at the DW Stadium, he has now officially been unveiled as a Wigan Athletic player.
Latics manager Gary Caldwell is pleased to have netted his man, and said: “He’s a powerful defender with a good touch, who has been brought up through a great academy and has built up good experience on loan.
“He fits our profile exactly; young, hungry players who want to grow with this club.
“There were several clubs looking to sign him and we are delighted he has chosen us. He adds great competition in the defensive areas.”
