- Poland seal 2-0 win away to Georgia in friendly.
- Second game ends in defeat at national stadium.
Hosted at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena (the national stadium of Georgia) in Tblisi, Purzycki’s Poland worked hard for their 2-0 victory last Sunday, and were on course to repeat the score line at half time on Tuesday, but a turnaround from the hosts in the second half proved otherwise.
Purzycki was making his seventh and eighth appearances for his country at Under 18 level, aiming to impress in time for the Under 19 European Championship qualifiers this autumn. On the experience of skippering his national team, the 17-year-old said:
“It was an extremely proud moment for me to be recognised like that at national level.
“The first game was tough, we worked hard for our win and overall it was a good test for improving my fitness.
“The second game didn’t quite go to plan after half time, we’re disappointed with what happened because we’d played well again in the first 45 minutes and had quite a comfortable lead.
“As a whole the experience for the team was great, we got to play in a national stadium.”
