- Midfielder fully focused on cementing first team spot and gaining promotion.
The Billinge-born midfielder, who made his debut at the end of the 2014-15 campaign in a 2-0 defeat at Millwall, has agreed to stay at the DW Stadium until 2017.
Chow, 21, scored his first goal for the club on his home debut in a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in April and he’s searching for more of the same this time around after being given his chance by manager Gary Caldwell.
“I’m delighted to sign again for the club,” Chow said. “It’s been an extraordinary couple of months for me personally and I hope to continue my progress.
“Everyone at the club is determined to bounce back and I think under Gary we have an excellent opportunity to do that.
“I’m thankful to Gary for my opportunity and I’m determined to do my best for the club and to play my part.”
Boss Caldwell spoke of his delight at Chow’s decision to stay with Latics and he says the midfielder has given himself the platform to become a key player in the squad.
“First and foremost we’re all really pleased that Tim has committed his future to the club,” Caldwell explained. “Tim is a good young footballer who has all the attributes to be a big part of what we’re doing here.
“Credit to him, he took his chance at the end of last season and he was given that chance because of his application and the way he trained and he provides a good example to all of our young players of what is required.”
