Top of the class! Train with Latics students pass BTEC course.

Seven participants taking part in the Train with Latics programme in association with ProCo North West have passed their BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Leadership Through Sport.

The course can be used as the first step into sports coaching and leadership and provides the knowledge and skill to be able to plan and lead a range of practical sporting activities as well as studying various aspects of sport; including psychology, nutrition, tactics and injuries.

Congratulations to the successful participants were Deane Bold, Jack Brooker, Dylan Jeffers, Oliver Carrick, Rhys Clegg, Jack Spear and Taylor Jones.

Education Officer, Adam Sherratt said:

“The course has been a huge success this year with all learners successfully completing the course alongside gaining valuable knowledge and experience from the volunteering they have undertaken with the Trust.

“Five of the seven learners have also attended or apprenticeship interviews and we are hopeful some will be successful in being taken on as Level 3 Apprentices. This is testament to their hard work over the year and the education pathway we have setup at the Trust.”
