Wigan Athletic can confirm that Norwich City’s England Under 20 international winger Josh Murphy has become the second arrival of the day – and the 12th of an extremely busy 2015 so far.

The 20-year-old has signed on a month’s loan from Carrow Road and could be in the squad for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship match at the DW Stadium against Watford.

London-born Murphy has appeared 16 times for the Canaries this season but has made just two substitute appearances since the arrival of new manager Alex Neil. In total, he has played 22 times for City, having progressed through the club’s Academy.

Latics manager Malky Mackay said on Murphy’s arrival: “Josh will be another great addition to what is still a small squad here. He is a great young talent and we thank Norwich for allowing this to happen. Hopefully Josh can make a successful contribution during his time with us and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Murphy has played 13 times for England at Under 18 and 20 level.
