Our Lady’s students visit Christopher Park Training Ground

Jordan Flores’ cousin, Joe Flores, was among twelve year 4 and 5 pupils from Our Lady’s Aspull, who visited Christopher Park Training Ground earlier today.

Jordan, Wigan Athletic Development Squad player and a former Our Lady’s pupil, met the young students alongside the first team players.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust organised the training ground visit as well as a tour of the DW Stadium and football session at Wigan Youth Zone, through their ongoing coaching and after school work with Our Lady’s.

Mr McGarr, who coaches at the school and accompanied the pupils on their visit, was delighted to see his former student, saying: “It was fantastic to see Jordan again and for the children to meet a past Our Lady’s pupil who is doing so well at Wigan Athletic.

“There are some great footballers at Our Lady’s, so it really gives them the sense that some day they could follow in Jordan’s footsteps and play for their local team too.”
