Could you be a host family for our young players?Wigan Athletic Football Club are looking to place some of our younger players within a family environment in the areas of Orrell, Shevington, Standish, and Standish Lower Ground, whilst they are working away from home.
Our club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.
Our placements vary from short term to long term, with some specialist accommodation offering short notice limited accommodation for trialists or holiday cover for other host families.
We pay a competitive rate (per week, per young person) for the right placements.
Each young person will need their own bedroom but families may offer more than one placement at the same time.
Families are expected to share the Club and Academy values at all times and play an integral part in the personal and professional development of the young players.
Please note this will be under a professional contractual arrangement and successful applicants (and any additional residents) over the age of 16 will be required to consent to an Enhanced DBS Check (Criminal Record Check).
All applicants will be required to complete a full assessment with our Club staff before consideration can be made as to suitability.
If you feel you could provide a young person aged between 16 and 20 years old with a good standard of personal accommodation within your family home, then please register your interest by writing or emailing giving full details of your experience and accommodation to the details below.
