Latics head to Wrexham hoping to bounce back from consecutive defeats, having lost 3-0 to Burnley in the Under 21 Premier League Cup last Monday, and 6-3 to Port Vale in the opening game of Group C in the Final Third Development League Cup two weeks ago.

Wrexham also began their FTDL Cup campaign with a defeat, a thumping 5-0 against group leaders Stoke City.

Latics will travel to face the Potters next month in the final group encounter.

Latics have met with Wrexham four times over the past two season, winning all four contests.  Last season saw Latics come from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Christopher Park, before coming from 1-0 down at Colliers Park to win 3-1.

Comfortable 4-0 (home) and 2-0 (away) wins were recorded in 2013-14 as Latics went on to be crowned double winners.
