Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s team of over 40 runners completed the Wigan 10K on Sunday 6th September.
Club legend Mike Pollitt ran for the Trust, finishing in 48.24, with Peter Atherton and Joe Parkinson not far behind, crossing the line together in 58.13.
Peter said: "It was tough, even with the training, but overall a great day for the town and hopefully lots of money will be raised for the Community Trust.
"Thanks to everyone who has supported us - myself, Joe, Mike and Jimmy. That's what makes the difference and everything worthwhile."
The fastest runner for the Community Trust team was Ash Pilling, who finished in an impressive 44.24.
Wigan Council’s Councillor Damian Edwardson also ran the 10K raising money for the Community Trust and completed in a time of 58.18, beating his 2014 time by almost 2 minutes.
Tom Flower, Head of Community, said: “The Wigan 10K has grown each year, as has our involvement.
“It was great to see so many staff, volunteers and supporters out there running and raising money for the Community Trust, they should all be very proud of their efforts.”
