Three Wigan charities benefit from FA Community Shield donations.
Wigan Athletic have distributed the donation money from the FA Community Shield to their three partner charities for the 2015-16 season – Wigan Athletic Community Trust, Wigan Youth Zone and DIAS Domestic Violence Centre.
The money, which was raised through the ticket sales at the FA Community Shield, has been split between the three charities and will go towards continuing the variety of work they complete in the Wigan area.
Jonathan Jackson presented the cheques to all three charity organisations and said: “The Community Shield charitable donations are a great way for the professional football clubs that take part in the FA Cup competition to give something back to the charities that they work with in their local areas.
“All three charities who have received a share on behalf of Wigan Athletic will see a real benefit from the donations and ensure the money goes to helping people in the Wigan community.”
