10 FACTS ABOUT REECE BURKE

1. Reece Burke was born on 2 September 1996 in Newham, joining West Ham United as a nine-year-old.

2. He made his first team debut as a 17-year-old, coming on in the second half of the Hammers' 5-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on 5 January 2014, alongside now Latics midfielder Danny Whitehead.

3. Burke appeared again the following season, making his home debut and featuring for the full 120 minutes of West Ham's League Cup clash with Sheffield United at Upton Park.  The sides drew 1-1, but the Hammers lost out on penalties.

4. A Premier League debut followed towards the end of the 2014/15 campaign, with Burke featuring for the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw away at Queens Park Rangers.  A week later the defender was involved in another clean sheet on his home Premier League, a 1-0 victory over Burnley.

5. Burke featured six times in total in 2014/15, including four starts in the Premier League, aged just 18.

6. 2015/16 started off with three appearances in the Europa League, featuring in both legs against FC Lusitans, before West Ham's 2-2 draw at home to Astra Giurgiu, a team he again faced at the start of the 2016/17 season.

7. Following West Ham's exit from the Europa League qualifying stages, Burke joined Sky Bet League One side Bradford City on a season-long loan, making his debut in a 0-0 away draw against Barnsley on 22 August 2015.

8. Burke scored his first senior goal on 5 September 2015, opening up a 2-1 away victory against Oldham Athletic.

9. The defender made a total of 36 appearances, scoring twice in all competitions for the Bantams, before picking up the club's Player of the Year award, one of seven titles he was awarded at the end of the campaign.

10. Burke has represented England at under 18, under 19 and under 20 levels.
