at Cherry Red Records Stadium
Wigan Athletic have been drawn away to AFC Wimbledon in the Premier League Cup qualifying round, set to take place at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Tuesday 23 August 2016.
Admission for the match is £5.00 for adults and free for under 18s.
The competition, formerly known as the Under 21 Premier League Cup, is in its fourth year and open to players from under 16 level to under 23s, with clubs eligible to name three over age outfield players and one over age goalkeeper in their match squad.
Latics were eliminated in the qualifying round against Burnley in 2015/16, having enjoyed relative success in 2014/15, beating Preston North End 5-0 and Nottingham Forest 3-1, before a penalty shootout defeat to Bolton Wanderers in the round of 32, following on from a 4-4 draw over 90 minutes and extra time.
Wimbledon have never reached beyond the qualifying rounds of the competition, losing out 2-1 away at Plymouth Argyle last season.
The group stage draw for this season's competition is set to take place on 1 September.
