The 21-year-old, who signed a long-term contract with the club in January of this year, is highly rated by manager Gary Caldwell, who has given his blessing to the move.
“Ryan is a quality player with huge potential, which is why we signed him in the first place. We have seen glimpses of what he can do and his talent is there for all to see. But he needs to play, that’s clear.
“Hopefully, he can get more regular game time with MK Dons. Karl Robinson is a manager who has a reputation for bringing out the best in young players and the team plays in a similar style to ourselves. We wish him all the best and we will be keeping a close eye on his development.”
Colclough signed for Latics in January of this year, and made 11 league appearances, scoring two goals in Sky Bet League One, versus Bury at home and Colchester United away.
