PREVIEW

A club best fifth round appearance awaits for Latics on Tuesday evening when they welcome Manchester City to the DW Stadium in the FA Youth Cup for a 7.00pm kick off.

Latics head into the clash with Barclays Premier Academy League leaders City off the back of a 3-0 victory over Burnley in the Football League Youth Alliance, on a current unbeaten run of 17 matches, stretching back to the end of September.

Will Ryder's side have won five of their last six matches and currently sit top of the Youth Alliance on 34 points from 15 games.  Latics also remian in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup, and will face Oldham Athletic in the second round on Saturday 13 February.

Visitors Manchester City have also won five of their last six games, and have lost just twice from their 21 fixtures so far in the 2015/16 campaign.

City's manager Jason Wilcox and assistant Gareth Whalley (formerly a midfielder for Latics), bring their side to the DW fresh from a 2-0 victory over rivals Manchester United, a win which saw them move up to 44 points in the BAPL.
