Hiwula had initially signed for the season, but The Terriers have now exercised a recall clause and the striker leaves Latics having scored two goals in 14 league appearances, seven as substitute. He scored six in 16 appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old netted two crucial late winners in the Sky Bet League One victories at Chesterfield and Fleetwood Town respectively, while he also scored a brace in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy matches at Crewe Alexandra and at home to Blackpool.
Latics manager Gary Caldwell said: "We’d like to place on record our thanks to Jordy, he is a young player with a great attitude and he did well for us. He goes with our best wishes."
