We start our look back at the weekend in the National League.

FOREST GREEN ROVERS 2 MACCLESFIELD TOWN 1 - DANNY WHITEHEAD

Midfielder Danny Whitehead featured for 55 minutes for Macclesfield Town as they faced a narrow defeat to National League leaders Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.  The 2-1 loss on the road leaves the Silkmen eighth in the league table, just three points behind the final play-off place.

TRANMERE ROVERS 2 TORQUAY UNITED 1 - DAN LAVERCOMBE

Torquay United's struggles continued at the weekend with a 2-1 defeat away to play-off chasing Tranmere Rovers, leaving them in 23rd place, 10 points from safety.

CHELTENHAM TOWN 4 BROMLEY 1 - RYAN JENNINGS

Saturday's match was the last scheduled fixture of Ryan Jennings' loan stay with Cheltenham Town, but he missed out on the squad due to injury.

The draw for the Dabbers has them seventh in the league table, three points from the final play-off spot, currently occupied by Barwell.

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2 CARDIFF CITY 3 - EMYR HUWS

Midfielder Emyr Huws featured for 60 minutes in a five-goal thriller at the John Smith's Stadium, with his Huddersfield Town side narrowly losing to Cardiff City.

Richard O'Donnell kept his second clean sheet on loan at Bristol City against high-flying Birmingham City at the weekend in a 0-0 draw, before making his move permanent on transfer deadline day.
