Wigan Athletic duo Adam Anson and Louis Robles have today joined Vanarama National League side Macclesfield Town on loan until the end of the season, linking up with recent Latics signing Danny Whitehead.

The defender and striker join the Moss Rose outfit for their first loan moves away from Latics, with manager Gary Caldwell delighted to see them looking to gain first team experience.

"Adam and Louis have been involved with our first team squad this season and trained with us last season, they're good young players who are being given a great opportunity.

"It's a good chance for them to play football at a good level, much like Ryan Jennings who is doing really well with Cheltenham Town."

Both players are currently in their first professional years with Latics, having completed two year scholarships.

Anson has made seven appearances for the Development Squad this season, following five goals in 32 appearances for the Under 18s in 2014-15.  The 18-year-old featured in first team pre-season friendlies against Altrincham and Southport, and was an unused substitute away at Crewe Alexandra in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Robles has a great record in the Development Squad this season, having scored 11 goals in 11 appearances, including a brace in Latics' 5-1 midweek victory against Port Vale.  The 19-year-old scored 29 goals in 35 appearances for the Under 18s last season, and went on to make his first team debut in Latics' final game of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season, appearing as a second half substitute away to Brentford.
