Michael Jacobs could be missing for two or three matches after picking up a calf injury against Crewe Alexandra last Saturday according to manager Gary Caldwell, who was encouraged that the news isn't as bad as first feared.

"Michael’s had his scan, he’s settled down and he’s walking again now.

"He’s already off the crutches and will start stepping up the intensity of his work soon.

"It was a problem with his calf, he’s had a scan and there is a tear in it.  It’s not as bad as we first feared, it could have been a lot worse.

"He’ll work with the physios for the next few weeks, but he’s a young lad and very fit, and I’m sure with the work he’ll be doing with the medical staff that he’ll be back sooner than expected.

"He could miss two or three games.  I’ve told him to stay positive, listen to the physios and be focused on his recovery."
