PREVIEW

Latics' Under 18s enter 2016 on Tuesday 12 January, when they host their first fixture of the calendar year against Carlisle United at Robin Park Arena, hoping to extend their run of 13 matches unbeaten in all competitions.

The Football League Youth Alliance clash kicks off at 12.00pm at Robin Park Arena, a great build up ahead of Latics' first team meeting with Sheffield United at the DW Stadium later in the evening.

Latics were due to face Accrington Stanley for their first match of the year on Friday, however a waterlogged pitch in Accrington saw the fixture postponed.

It was an incredible 2015 for the club at youth level, with the Under 18s winning the Lancashire FA Youth Cup, finishing second in the Youth Alliance, and losing just nine out of 58 matches.

Latics will start the day in second place on 28 points, just one point behind leaders Bury, whilst Carlisle sit 13th on 13 points.
