VACANCY: CASUAL DANCE COACH

Wigan Athletic Community Trust looking for Casual Dance Coach.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust have a vacancy for a Casual Dance Coach, to provide high quality sports coaching to schools and on the Premier League Kicks programme. This is a casual job vacancy and will include 3-9 hours work per week, at a rate of pay of £11.16 per hour for the first two hours of a session, then £7.82 per hour.

The position will encompass the following roles and responsibilities –
  • To deliver high quality Dance sessions in Wigan primary schools as part of the Community Trust’s PPA provision.
  • To deliver evening Dance sessions as part of the Premier League Kicks project.
  • Ensure that all activities delivered are in line with the Primary School Curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
  • To collect the appropriate monitoring and evaluation that takes place at each Premier League Kicks site and to assist in the up keep of the VIEWS on-line monitoring and evaluation system.
  • To ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place.
  • To work as part of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekend sessions.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies –
  • Experience of coaching Dance sessions in the community and at schools
  • Level 2 Dance Coaching Qualification 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build effective and professional coaching  relationships
  • Effective organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery.
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Willing to learn and continuously develop.
  • Self-motivated
  • Assertive and calm with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Good organisational and prioritising skills

It is essential to the job role that the successful candidate has the ability to travel to and from sessions.
