David Philps joins Wigan Athletic Community Trust as Wigan Youth Zone football officer.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of David Philp as the new Football Officer based at Wigan Youth Zone.

David will be responsible for all football related activities on the four football pitches which were funded by the Premier League in 2013 when the building opened. His role will include organising tournaments, leagues and Wigan Youth Zone FC football teams. 

David joins the Trust and Youth Zone from previously working at both Oxford FC and Watford FC Community Trusts and brings a wealth of experience to the position.

Wigan Youth Zone attracts up to 250 young people every evening and Community Trust staff help to deliver football and multi sports sessions there throughout the week.

Tom Flower, Head of Community said: "The Football Officer role is key to the partnership between the Trust and Wigan Youth Zone, David brings a lot of experience from his previous work and I am sure he will be a success."
