Girls football team win third competition this year for Wigan Athletic Community Trust.

Girls from Rose Bridge Academy secured their third competition win representing Wigan Athletic last week, beating Manchester City 3-2 in the Premier League Girls Football programme’s North West tournament!

The team went unbeaten throughout the tournament, scoring an incredible 31 goals in just five games, including a 9-0 victory over local rivals Bolton Wanderers!

The team first had success representing Latics earlier this year, winning a competition celebrating Girls Football Week, and then again in May as they won a competition at Wembley ahead of the women’s FA Cup final.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust provide football sessions at the school through the Premier League Girls Football programme.
