LOAN REPORT: DANNY WHITEHEAD ON TARGET IN MACCLESFIELD DRAW

Five loans players in action this weekend.

Danny Whitehead was on hand to earn Macclesfield Town a point at home to Lincoln City on Saturday, with the midfielder scoring a cracker from the edge of the penalty area to equalise in the 1-1 draw.

The stunning effort leaves Macclesfield 12th in the National League on 50 points, 11 points behind Braintree Town who sit in the final play-off position in fifth.

After extended his loan deal with Chester until the end of April, midfielder Danny O'Brien featured for 74 minutes in the club's 1-0 defeat away to Eastleigh on Saturday.

The narrow defeat leaves Chester 16th in the National League on 43 points, eight points clear of Altrincham in the final relegation place in 21st.

ALDERSHOT TOWN 0 TORQUAY UNITED 0 - DAN LAVERCOMBE

Rounding off the action in the National League is Dan Lavercombe's Torquay United, who continue to chip away in the battle to avoid relegation.  The goalkeeper was injured with a slight groin strain for Saturday's trip to Aldershot Town, but the Gulls managed another positive result and another clean sheet to extend their current unbeaten run to six matches.

Torquay remain 22nd in the division despite the point taking them onto 34, two points behind 20th place Halifax, but more importantly just two points behind Boreham Wood in 19th who they have two games in hand over.

WITTON ALBION 0 BURSCOUGH 2 - OWEN EVANS

Our final participant in non-league action this weekend was Owen Evans who played the full 90 minutes for Witton Albion in their 2-0 home defeat to Burscough.

The loss leaves Witton 14th in Evo-Stik Division One North on 42 points, 12 points behind the final play-off place.

Midfielder Emyr Huws made his return from injury for Huddersfield Town on Saturday, with the Wales international featuring for the full 90 minutes as the Terriers lost 3-1 at home to Sky Bet Championship leaders Burnley.

Huddersfield's defeat leaves them 18th in the league table, six points above Rotherham United in 22nd place.

MOTHERWELL 2 DUNDEE UNITED 1 - BILLY MCKAY

Friday night saw Dundee United's survival battle dealt a blow as they lost 2-1 away at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, with Billy Mckay featuring for 76 minutes.

United remain bottom of the division on 20 points, eight points behind Kilmarnock in 11th, and 13 points behind Hamilton Academical in 10th, with a game in hand over both.

OUT OF ACTION - ANDREW TAYLOR, RYAN JENNINGS AND SAM COSGROVE

Andrew Taylor was not involved in Reading's 18-man squad for their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Friday night, whilst Sam Cosgrove and Ryan Jennings were both cup tied for Nantwich Town and Grimsby Town's FA Trophy semi-final first legs.
