SKY BET LEAGUE 1
SUNDAY 8 MAY 2016
Latics’ supporters are being reminded that it is against the law to enter the field of play and any pitch invasion during the game or at the full-time whistle on Sunday could threaten the planned Sky Bet League One trophy presentation.
Gary Caldwell’s men go into the fixture with promotion guaranteed, three points ahead of 2nd placed Burton Albion with a superior goal-difference of 20, and the plan is to present every member of the playing squad with their winners’ medal, before the Sky Bet League One Trophy is presented on the pitch.
These plans could be put in jeopardy if there is a pitch encroachment by supporters at the final whistle and fans are being urged to stay in their seats, so that every supporter can enjoy the post-match celebrations.
It is a criminal offence to encroach the pitch or use pyrotechnical devices. Criminal prosecutions and banning orders could result if anyone breaks the law in this way.
Supporters are being asked to respect the law and the good name of Wigan Athletic.
