  • Exeter City v Wigan Athletic, FA Youth Cup Third Round.
  • Latics head to Exeter’s St. James’ Park on Tuesday 13th December 2016, 7:30pm kick-off.
  • Academy manager, Gregor Rioch: “It’s always an exciting time for the young players.”
Wigan Athletic’s under-18 side will head to Exeter City in the Third Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday 13th December 2016, kick-off 7:30pm.

The match will be played at the Grecians’ St. James’ Park Stadium, with admission priced as follows:
Adults: £5
Seniors: £3
Under-18s: £1

Academy manager Gregor Rioch knows his team will be in for a tough test against an Exeter side currently flying high in their league, though he also acknowledged his side will benefit from the experience of last year’s group, who made the Fifth Round for the first time in the club’s history.

“With the long journey and overnight stay for the players, it’s going to be a challenge but equally a great experience for the boys,” he said.

“We’ll prepare for Exeter as we would any game but ultimately the FA Youth Cup will give the boys that natural extra incentive, especially having seen and some been involved in the success of last year.”
