First team arrangements confirmed ahead of Cardiff City clash.

Following the departure of manager Gary Caldwell earlier this week, Wigan Athletic can confirm that Assistant Manager Graham Barrow and Development Squad Manager Peter Atherton, assisted by First Team Coach Joe Parkinson, will take charge of the team against Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship this Saturday 29 October.

Barrow, Atherton and Parkinson took training this morning (Thursday 27th) and will carry on in that role until further notice.

The club can also confirm that it has parted company with Mike Pollitt and Malcolm Crosby.

Goalkeeping Coach Mike Pollitt has been at Wigan Athletic since 2005, signing as a player from Rotherham United and making 52 appearances, including 36 in the Premier League and starting the Carling Cup Final in 2006 before injury forced him off the pitch. He retired in 2014 and was appointed as a coach by Uwe Rosler, subsequently working under Malky Mackay and Gary Caldwell.

Former Sunderland manager Malcolm Crosby joined the club earlier this year as Chief Scout and was involved with the recruitment programme over the summer.

We wish them the best in their future careers.
