Midfielder Sam Morsy was an unused substitute as Barnsley's run without a win stretched to four matches after a 2-1 defeat against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Kyle Bartley and Pablo Hernandez struck either side of half time to give the hosts a two-goal cushion, before Charlie Taylor diverted the ball into his own net to make the remaining 20 minutes slightly less comfortable.

The defender featured for the full 90 minutes of the Trotters' 2-0 home defeat to Oxford United, making it seven league games without a win, stretching back to 20 August as they suffered their second consecutive defeat.
Wes Thomas and Chris Maguire both netted inside the final 10 minutes at the Macron Stadium, with Bolton now goalless in their last four matches and eighth in the table on 16 points.
CHARLTON ATHLETIC 0 ROCHDALE 1 - SANMI ODELUSI
Sanmi Odelusi featured as an 84th minute substitute on Saturday as Rochdale made it four straight victories in League One thanks to Calvin Andrew's 25th minute goal in their 1-0 away victory over Charlton Athletic.
Dale's superb turnaround in form has seen them shoot up to 11th in the table on 15 points, just two behind Port Vale in the final play-off place.
OLDHAM ATHLETIC 0 MK DONS 2 - BILLY MCKAY V RYAN COLCLOUGH & JACK HENDRY
Ryan Colclough and Jack Hendry's MK Dons came out on the winning side against Billy Mckay's Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon, with Colclough featuringfor 89 minutes as Ben Reeves and Kieran Agard provided the goals for the Dons' 2-0 victory.
Mckay played the full 90 for the hosts, but defender Hendry was an unused substitute again for the visitors.
Oldham are now seven without a win in League One and bottom of the division on nine points, whilst upwardly mobile MK are ninth on 15 points and just two from Port Vale in the final play-off place.
CHELTENHAM TOWN 1 LUTON TOWN 1 - DANNY WHITEHEAD
Midfielder Danny Whitehead returned to Cheltenham Town's match day squad but was an unused substitute as they made it back-to-back draws in League Two 1-1 at home to Luton Town.
Daniel O'Shaugnessy earned the Robins a point with his 64th minute equaliser following Danny Hylton's first half opener for the visitors, but Cheltenham are now sixth without a victory as they battle at the bottom end of the table.
Whitehead's side sit 22nd on nine points and out of the relegation zone on goal difference above Exeter City.
