Pair attended the camp at Standish High School earlier this week
Latics duo Shaun MacDonald and Jake Buxton visited Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s football camp at Standish High School earlier this week.
The pair, who signed for the club in the summer from Bournemouth and Derby County respectively, took part in different drills before signing autographs for the children.
The football camps have been open to boys and girls at four different locations across Wigan all week, and have given local children the opportunity to improve their skills with Latics coaches.
Buxton said: “The session was to a good standard and all of the children were taking on board what the coaches were telling them. I was surprised with how good the talent was actually!
“The kids were brilliant and were very well behaved. It was an enjoyable session to be a part of and nice to see everybody having fun.”
MacDonald added: “I imagine lots of the boys and girls here come to watch us on a Saturday afternoon, so it’s always great to give something back to them.
“I remember when I was a kid having players coming in and learning something off them, so if we can give these children some positive feelings then we’ve done our bit.”
