GALLERY: WOODFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL ENJOY HALF-TIME EXPERIENCE AT FULHAM GAME

Mr. Whelan’s guests from Woodfield Primary School complete lap of the DW Stadium pitch as part of their Daily Mile programme.

  • Mr. Whelan invited children from Woodfield Primary School to the DW Stadium for Saturday’s game with Fulham.
  • The children from the school did a lap of the pitch at half-time as part of their Daily Mile programme.
  • Daily Mile is a programme set up and run to encourage a healthy lifestyle and more physical activity.
Children from Woodfield Primary school ran the perimeter of the DW Stadium pitch at half-time of Saturday’s game with Fulham after being invited by Latics owner Mr Dave Whelan, as part of their Daily Mile project.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust is currently working with Wigan Council and Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles to encourage all primary schools to sign up the to the Daily Mile

The programme is designed to encourage all primary school pupils to run or walk at least one mile per day as part of their school routine in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle and taking part in more physical activity

As part of the initiative, in June Mr. Whelan agreed to sponsor Woodfield Primary School on Wigan Lane to create a running/walking route in their school playground and officially opened the track.

Mr Whelan, started the run on Saturday by blowing the whistle to signal the start.
