The latest injury update from Gary Caldwell, plus early team news.
- David Perkins in training this week and could be an option v Fulham.
- Nick Powell still being assessed, Craig Morgan working on hamstring injury.
- Fulham set to be without Floyd Ayite, Sone Aluko and Ryan Fredericks.
Latics are set to be without defender Craig Morgan and midfielder Nick Powell for the visit of Fulham this weekend, but could be handed a boost to their match day squad with the news confirmed by Gary Caldwell in his pre-match press conference that David Perkins has returned to training with the group following a hamstring injury.
Speaking at the Wigan Athletic Training Centre this morning, Caldwell said:
"David Perkins is back training, he joined in with us down in Norwich the day after the game and he trained yesterday, so he’ll be available for selection, but we'll have to see how much of a part he can play."

On Latics' other recent injury complaints, Caldwell continued:
"Craig Morgan is still working with the physios and fitness coaches, so hopefully he’ll be back sometime next week and we’re still waiting to see the full extent of Nick Powell’s injury, so that’s going to be something we’ll find out more about next week as well."
During Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Norwich City, Jordi Gomez made his first start and full 90-minute appearance since re-joining the club this summer, something which thoroughly pleased the gaffer.
"Jordi’s not 100% fit yet, but I think his performance against Norwich was outstanding.
"He brought composure to the team and a calmness on the ball which I know a lot about having played with him.
"He takes possession of the ball anywhere on the pitch and is very good at receiving it under pressure.
"That final pass or final shot like the one he produced for our goal is excellent, and to do that without being fully ready is testament to his ability."
Saturday's visitors Fulham are set to be without winger Floyd Ayite who picked up an injury in their midweek draw against Burton Albion.
His manager Slavisa Jokanovic told getwestlondon.co.uk:
“I don't know exactly how much time we will be waiting, but he is going to have lost a few weeks.
“At the moment we are not thinking about surgery, but it is a bad kick and at the moment his ankle is so big with inflammation and we are waiting for more clear news.”
Fellow summer signing Sone Aluko also looks set to miss the trip to the DW Stadium due to an ankle problem, with Ryan Fredericks still a longer term injury.
