Steven Davies provided the crucial goal in the 52nd minute at Spotland, before Odelusi was introduced nine minutes from time as Dale held out to defeat the Trotters, who had Andrew Taylor as an unused substitute.
Upwardly mobile Rochdale now sit 15th in the division on 12 points, but defeat for Botlon sees them slip to seventh place on 16 points, five behind top spot.

League One struggles Oldham Athletic are now without a win in their last six matches dating back to their third league game of the season in August, but they claimed a crucial point on Tuesday evening when Peter Clarke's 83rd minute equaliser grabbed a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic.
