Barrow on Ipswich: “It’s a big week, we have to aim to win both matches, starting Tuesday.”

  • Latics face Ipswich United on Tuesday 4 April.
  • Barrow on Ipswich: “We’ve got to go there with the attitude of wanting to win.”
  • “We need every player to be an 8/10 or more.” – Graham Barrow.
  • On Bogle: “We wait for the scan results, we have to plan without him.”

KICK-OFF 7.45pm

Latics Interim Manager Graham Barrow was in defiant mood as he spoke to Latics Player HD in advance of the trip to Ipswich.

GB on Newcastle
“The positives for us from Saturday are that we were in it for the whole game really. I do have to look at the whole performance though and if I’m being really critical, there were a couple of players who disappointed me because I’m really encouraging the players to get their shackles off and I think one or two of them are still carrying the burden of the situation. There’s no use in that because we need to fire on all cylinders and in the two games we’ve had recently, there’s been a couple of players, not the same ones, who have let us down in not being brave enough.

“We’ll be talking about that over the next couple of days; we’ve got to be brave and not worry about anything.

“There was a lot of positives but I always believe that we have to be honest with each other. The wins we’ve had this season have been when you’ve looked across the pitch and everybody has been focused and at it, and we need all 11 plus the substitutes to be really focused.

GB on Ryan Colclough
“We’ve had players such as Charles N’Zogbia and Callum McManaman before, and Ryan’s got that ability and earned the right to be on the pitch on Saturday. He’s a lot more settled now and we’ve got to use that.

GB on big week ahead
“We can turn it on its head this week but we need the same sort of performance and effort. Usually when you get the performances consistently the results will then turn, but it’s this thing now where it’s too easy to say that if we get a good performance at Ipswich we’ll probably win the game, but it doesn’t work like that because we have to make it happen. The good thing is that we’re together for two days now to get ourselves mentally right for the game.

GB on Omar Bogle
“It’s not great news for Omar really. He’s probably struggling to play again this season but we’ll know better today when he has his scan. If there’s an outside chance he can play again he’ll obviously make it, but we have to plan without him.

GB on believing
“We do believe but the players just need a little confidence booster. A result would really give them that. We’ve worked ever so hard over the past two games for no reward and you need a reward somewhere along the line, so hopefully that comes tomorrow.
