Latics midfielder Andy Kellett has joined Chesterfield on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old has made 17 appearances for Latics in all competitions since signing for the club in 2015, the last of which came in the Sky Bet Championship versus Aston Villa in March.
He has endured a difficult time with injuries but is fit again after a good pre-season behind him and Latics manager Paul Cook feels that all parties will benefit from the move.
“Andy needs game time,” he said. “He is going to a good club with a manager who knows his qualities and we will be monitoring his progress.”
Kellett’s best spell for the club came in the 2015-16 season when he scored league goals in quick succession at Barnsley and Fleetwood Town.
He originally signed from Bolton Wanderers in August 2015 having had loan spells at Manchester United and Plymouth Argyle.
