Striker moves to Globe Arena on season-long loan

  • Callum Lang moves to Morecambe on season-long loan.
  • Lang has made three cup appearances for Latics.
  • “This is a great opportunity for Callum,” Paul Cook

Latics striker Callum Lang has joined Morecambe on a season-long loan.

The 18-year-old has featured in both Carabao Cup matches against Blackpool and Aston Villa and made his first start for the club in the Checkatrade Trophy at Bloomfield Road last Tuesday, where he was inches away from opening his account when his free-kick hit the bar.

Latics manager Paul Cook said: “Callum has got a great opportunity and we hope he can go and prove himself at Morecambe. Jim Bentley is a really experienced manager who gives youth a chance and we hope he impresses. We’ll be watching him regularly.”

Lang has been at the Latics academy since the age of 14.
