- Paul Cook: “It’s a blow but we wish Craig all the best in his recovery.”
Welsh defender Craig Morgan has to undergo a hip surgery and will miss the opening months of the season.
Latics manager Paul Cook revealed that the player would undergo minor keyhole surgery and be sidelined for the opening months of the season.
He said: “It’s a real blow for him and the club but it is important that we get Craig back fit and firing and we will give him as much time as that takes.
“Without putting a precise timescale on it, we know it will be months. It’s quite a common procedure and the most important thing is that Craig recovers fully. We wish him well.”
