Latics defender Donervon Daniels has joined Rochdale on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old has just recovered from 12 months out with with a knee injury, missing virtually all of the 2016-17 season but he has featured in all three cup games this season, in the Carabao Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy. He has not featured in Sky Bet League One yet this season.

Daniels signed for Latics from West Bromwich Albion in June 2015, having previously had loan spells from the Hawthorns at Tranmere Rovers, Gillingham, Blackpool and Aberdeen before being part of Latics’ Sky Bet League One winning team in 2015-16.

He has made 43 league appearances for Wigan Athletic, scoring three goals, along with a further six cup appearances.
