Wigan Athletic Assistant Manager Leam Richardson says everyone in the camp needs to keep their feet on the ground after Latics maintained the 100% start to the season.
LR ON THE START OF THE SEASON
So far so good, the manager just reiterated to the lads there to the lads that we’re pleased with the win and pleased with the points but we’ll keep our feet firmly on the ground.
LR ON A TOUGH SECOND HALF
We started very well but credit to Oldham, they kept us honest all day. If we’d conceded in the second half they it would have made it very difficult for us; they started the half really well and our lads had to defend for long periods and did well. Oldham have got a good team and a good management staff and we had to dig in.
LR ON AN INTENSE SCHEDULE
They did well, they have adapted to the training schedule well and to the fixture list but we’ll have to utilise our full squad to keep everyone up to full fitness and match speed.
LR ON IVAN TONEY
He’s great, he’s still settling in - like a lot of them are getting to know each other - but the application from all the lads since we’ve been at the club has been outstanding and long may it continue.
LR ON THE LATICS FANS
They were outstanding, we could hear them all day and they kept us honest. As I said Oldham kept pushing, kept us honest and even when the board went up they kept up the pressure right until the end
LR ON ASTON VILLA
The games come think and fast, we dust ourselves down, we’re in tomorrow and we get ready for the game on Tuesday.
