Over £375 was raised for The Brick by the club’s supporters at Saturday’s game against Fleetwood Town, while fans also donated food and toiletries to its three collection points at the DW Stadium.
Helping people in Wigan affected by homelessness and poverty, The Brick were named the club’s official charity partner for the 2017/18 season in September, and held a raffle for a signed ball and bucket collected prior to kick off against the Cod Army and raised £377 in total.
Supporting over 400 people a month by offering them food, shelter and training, Latics fans have raised nearly £1,500 for The Brick’s Rebuilding Lives campaign since the start of the year-long partnership, as the charity aim to help people in the community to construct new lives.
The donations received at the food collection points at Saturday’s game will be sorted by first team players Dan Burn, Samy Morsy, Will Grigg, Michael Jacobs and Reece James this afternoon, who will be visiting The Brick to help make Christmas hampers for homeless people in Wigan.
