Supporters are urged to bring items such as tinned meat and fish, cereal, tinned beans, soup, vegetables, packet meals and toiletries.

  • The Brick help people in Wigan who are homeless or living in poverty.
  • Collection points will be at the West and South Stands as well as the Family Zone.
  • Over 400 people a month are supported by the Brick.

Latics fans can continue to help The Brick, the club’s official charity of the season, to change the lives of people in Wigan who are homeless or living in poverty by donating food and toiletries to their collection points at the DW Stadium at Saturday’s game against Fleetwood Town.

Representatives from The Brick will be at this weekend’s fixture, where two collection points will be situated at the West Stand and South Stands, and supporters are encouraged to bring items such as tinned meat and fish, cereal, tinned beans, soup, vegetables, packet meals and toiletries.

In addition, a collection point is located in the club’s Family Zone in the East Stand at every home league weekend game during the 2017/18 campaign.

And, it’s not too late to take part in the Christmas parkrun at Haigh Woodland Park on Saturday morning. Run or walk the 5k course in your favourite festive jumper or full Santa Suit and help to raise vital funds for The Brick.

Kathleen Pitt, Chief Executive of The Brick, said: “We can’t wait to be at Saturday’s game and to meet the club’s fans again who have given so generously to us since the partnership’s launch. We’ve been amazed by the support shown to us and can’t thank everyone enough.

She added: “We’ve been delighted with how successful the link has been with club so far, and look forward to the many exciting events planned later in the season.”

A homeless charity based in Wigan town centre, The Brick help people living on the streets or in poverty to rebuild their lives, and support over 400 people across the borough each month, offering them food, shelter and training.
