Player for the Day competition winners get unforgettable afternoon thanks to Speedy Services.
- Wigan Athletic supporters Tom, Laurie and Daniel become Players for the Day.
- Speedy Services provided the experience as part of a #LaticsOpenDay competition prize.
- Captains Sam Morsy and Dan Burn welcomed the young supporters to the Wigan Athletic Training Centre.
Becoming a professional footballer is something we all dream about and thanks to Speedy Services, brothers Tom, Laurie and Daniel Skidmore lived those dreams out when they became Players for the Day at the Wigan Athletic Training Centre.
Tom, 19, Laurie, 16 and Daniel, 12 took part in the unforgettable experience after winning the prize to be ‘Player for the Day’ at the Latics Open Day in August. Mum Cathy collected the prize on the day and joked how she'd struggle to pick between her Latics obsessed sons, so we didn't hesitate in offering all three of them the chance to come along.
The brothers, who travel to Latics matches from Kendal, were welcomed to the training centre by captain Sam Morsy, before fueling up with breakfast in the canteen ahead of their customary warm ups and exclusive training session.

Ian Clarke, Senior Marketing Executive at Speedy Services, who sponsored the prize, said:
“We are really proud to be involved with Latics and to be able to give Tom, Laurie and Daniel the opportunity of a lifetime is fantastic. All of the staff and players were excellent with the boys and they are a credit to the football club.”
It was a truly unbelievable day and we thank Speedy Services for helping to make it happen.
