Latics' academy side visited the soccer schools last Monday afternoon
A total of 370 young children between the ages of 6-14 attended Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s soccer schools and dance camps during February half term.
The Community Trust held soccer schools at Abraham Guest, Fred Longworth High School, Lowton High School and Standish High School, with eight members of Wigan Athletic’s academy side taking part in sessions last Monday afternoon.
Latics’ dance camps also proved hugely popular at Lowton and Standish High Schools, as 61 boys and girls learnt new moves and routines in a fun environment.
Wes Partington, Sports and Cohesion Manager at Wigan Athletic Community Trust, said: “We’ve had another really successful half-term with hundreds of young children from all over the Wigan borough enjoying our soccer schools and dance camps.
“To have the academy players in attendance was fantastic because it gave them an opportunity to meet young Latics fans, most of which they’ll have never seen before, so it created that relationship between them which was great to see.”
