Two goal Omar Bogle thanks Latics fans after a full debut he will never forget
- OMAR BOGLE: “I’m happy to score two but I would have wanted to win more.”
- ON THE LATICS FANS: “They were great, I’m buzzing.”
- ON FULHAM: “That’s what we need to focus on now.”
Latics’ new striker Omar Bogle talked to Latics Player HD after a superb full home debut in which he scored two goals in a dramatic draw against high-flying Norwich City.
ON HIS DOUBLE GOALSCORING DEBUT
Obviously it was good to get off to a start like that with two goals, I’m just a bit disappointed they weren’t enough to win the game.
ON HIS STUNNING FREE-KICK
I just fancied it when it was given when the free-kick was given. I was going to put it over the wall then literally at the last second I changed my mind and sort of gambled and it worked, it was great to see it go in.
ON THE RESULT AGAINST NORWICH
It would have been great to get the three points but we have to take big positives from the way we played. Norwich are a really good side so this could turn out to be a good point in the end.
If we play the way we did in that second half, then we’ll definitely win games before the end of the season so we’ve got to take heart from that.
ON THE LATICS FANS
I loved the atmosphere, the fans were great and I would expect nothing less from a club like this, it gave me a real buzz. So thanks to them for the way they’ve welcomed me but this is just the start.
We rest up after this then we go again in the build up to Fulham on Saturday, it’s going to be a real tough game but if we play like we did tonight then of course we have a chance.
ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The biggest thing for me is to deal with the tempo which is a big step up from League 2 but the gaffer sets training at the pace he wants us to play games and I know I can adapt. I am confident in my ability, I have to be.
ON WILL GRIGG
The gaffer played Will just behind me so it wasn’t two up front and I thought it worked well because we supported each other and hopefully we can get a good partnership going.
