ON HIS DOUBLE SAVE
I guessed the right way and in truth I don’t think it was a great penalty, it almost went under me, but I was up on my feet quickly and managed to save the rebound as well, so I was happy with that.
ON THE DERBY ATMOSPHERE
I’ve played in a few Blackpool v Preston derbies and I knew what the atmosphere was going to be like. This was a game both sides wanted to win desperately but in all fairness it was probably the fairest result, not the one we wanted but the fairest on the balance of play.
ON SAVING PENALTIES IN THAT GOAL
Yes, I saved one against Martyn Waghorn here for Blackpool, we had a chat about that when I went up to Rangers. As a goalkeeper, though, you save them or you don’t really and thankfully today it helped us get a point.
ON TWO CLEAN SHEETS
It’s good to get two clean sheets now in the last two games I’ve started. I’m 34 but there’s life in the old dog yet so to speak and I’ve still got things to prove really, to myself more than anything, that I can still play at this level.
ON THE TEAM SPIRIT
Maybe I’m a bit different in terms of what I bring to the team, more vocal, but since I’ve been here I feel this is a real team, a bit like we had at Blackpool, very good experienced players and I think we’re going to be fine.
ON KEEPING GOING
We had such a high after Tuesday and we wanted to keep that going. We put that game to bed on Thursday and focused on getting something here against a very good Preston team and after such a great result at Wolves we didn’t want to lose here. But the lads fought hard and gave everything.
ON THE SCHEDULE
It’s been intense, no question, Saturday/Tuesday, week in week out, but this is the league we’re in, competitive, with some really big teams in there. QPR’s another, it’s the next game and we’ll look to go there and get a result.
ON THE ATMOSPHERE AT THE DW
The atmosphere was great today, the fans are still turning up to support us despite our league position and hopefully they can see a team that’s scrapping for them.
