Traineeship will help young people in the local area to gain employment, further their education or start an apprenticeship
Wigan Athletic Community Trust are launching a new traineeship programme that will provide young people between the ages of 16-18 an opportunity to improve their skills and experience to help gain employment, to further their education or start an apprenticeship.
The programme lasts for 12 weeks and begins on Monday 20th February 2017, which will involve 28 hours per week of work experience and skills workshops.
Benefits of undertaking the traineeship include a guaranteed place on a Level 2 sports study programme with the Community Trust in September 2017, a guaranteed interview for a Level 3 apprenticeship with the Community Trust starting in September 2017, a Level 1 coaching qualification, job application support and weekly bursaries* (conditions apply).
Wes Partington, Sport and Community Manager at Wigan Athletic Community Trust, said: “This traineeship is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the local area who are not in education or employment to gain necessary skills that will make them ready for further education or the workplace upon completion of the programme.”
If interested, Wigan Athletic Community Trust will be holding a taster day at the DW Stadium between 10am and 2pm on Monday 6th February 2017.
