Goalkeeper to remain with Welsh Premier League side until the end of the 2016-17 season.

  • Dan Lavercombe signs for Rhyl FC on loan.
  • Goalkeeper available for Saturday’s game with Llandudno, subject to international clearance.
  • Owen Evans, who spent first half of the season at Rhyl, now back with Latics.
Wigan Athletic can confirm that young goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe has joined Welsh Premier League side Rhyl FC for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

The 20-year-old, who has played in the National League for Torquay United, has been an unused substitute on a number of occasions for Latics this season but, following the signing of Jakob Haugaard from Stoke City, and the return of Owen Evans from his loan spell at Rhyl, the opportunity has been afforded to Lavercombe for him to develop his game elsewhere.

Subject to international clearance, Lavercombe will be available for Rhyl’s Welsh Premier League game at Llandudno on Saturday afternoon.
