Wigan Athletic have taken West Ham United’s Marcus Browne on loan until the end of the season, subject to Premier League clearance.
The 19-year-old midfielder has joined in time to be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship match at home to Brentford.
London-born Browne has been with West Ham’s academy since the age of 8, and has made one senior appearance, in this season’s Europa League, and is highly thought-of at The London Stadium.
He has been included in several Barclays Premier League squads this season, but has so far not made a league appearance for the Hammers.
Latics manager Warren Joyce said: “Marcus is a young player with great potential and will strengthen our group. We have been watching him and had no hesitation in bringing him here once we found out there was a chance of something being agreed.”
