Yanic Wildschut completes move to Sky Bet Championship rivals
- Yanic Wildschut moves from Wigan Athletic to Norwich City.
- Move goes through in last few minutes of transfer window
- ‘We would only ever let him go if the valuation was met’ - David Sharpe
Yanic Wildschut has completed his transfer to Norwich City, for an undisclosed fee, minutes before the transfer window closed.
After he handed in a transfer request yesterday, Latics Chairman David Sharpe said the club would not be forced into selling the 25 year-old Dutch winger unless the valuation placed on a player very much part of Warren Joyce’s plans was met.
This happened earlier today and the player was given permission to speak with Norwich City.
Sharpe said: “We have now reached an agreement which we feel is right for the long-term interest of our football club.
“We were disappointed in the manner that Yanic behaved, and we made that clear. Nevertheless, it is correct that we should still thank him for his contribution these past 15 months and wish him the best for the future.”
