Wigan Athletic have signed midfielder Lee Evans on loan from Sky Bet Championship Wolves for the 2017-18 season.
Evans, 23, is a former Wales U21 international who has played over 60 times for Wolves since moving to Molineux in 2013 from Newport County.
During the 2015-16 season, Evans spent time on loan at Bradford City and helped the Bantams to the League One play-offs – where they lost to Millwall in the semi-finals – before returning to Wolves and playing 18 times for both Walter Zenga and Paul Lambert last season, signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the club in February.
Evans’ new manager Paul Cook is delighted to secure the Championship midfielder for this season.
“Lee’s a classy player and somebody who has been playing at a good level for a number of years,” he said.
“We do have a number of players in midfield at the moment but I feel you can never be too strong in that department, especially over the course of a season in which we’re going to play over 50 games.
“I am sure once he’s settled in, Lee is the type of player the fans will really warm too.”
