NEW SIGNING TERELL THOMAS DELIGHTED TO BE SIGNING FOR LATICS
- Wigan Athletic set to sign defender Terell Thomas.
- 21-year-old defender will join when his Charlton Athletic contract ends.
- Thomas: “My target is to play for the first team.”
New Wigan Athletic defender Terell Thomas told Wigan Athletic IFollow that his target is to play first team football at Latics.
“It feels fantastic to be a Wigan Athletic player. I’m ecstatic to finally get it all sorted because it’s been a long day really, I was at the hospital at 7.30am this morning getting tests done.
“I was on loan at Woking from Charlton last season so that’s where I’ve gained most of my experience, I played about 40 games there.
“I’m an athletic centre back who can get across the pitch quite quickly. I like to feel that I’m good on the ball because I can use both feet and I’m good at reading the play. I love defending and stopping goals.
ON PAUL COOK
“The manager sold the club in a fantastic way to me. He has dreams and aspirations of where he wants to take this club and that’s what got me so excited. He told me that he’d watched me play and that it’s up to me now to show people what I can do in pre-season.
ON PERSONAL TARGETS
“My aim this season is just to try and get into the first team and play as many games as possible. I want to progress as an individual and I believe Wigan is the perfect club for me to do that.
