WARREN JOYCE SPOKE TO LATICS PLAYER HD AFTER WATCHING HIS SIDE WIN AT ST ANDREW’S
ON A DESERVED WIN
It was well deserved and I’m pleased for the lads, I think we dealt tactically very with them, they can pass sides off the pitch, they’re clever and we made a lot of good decisions with and without the ball ball, and with a little bit more quality at the end of the first half we could have killed the game off.
ON DAN BURN
I think he’s been magnificent, after my first game I gave him a bit of stick then he was out of the team through illness and Morgs came in and took his chance alongside Bucko. But he was superb in training, he worked his socks off, he got flogged a bit on his running but there’s more to come I think physically and his form over the last nine or ten games been as good as any in the league.
ON DAVID PERKINS
I thought Perks did well, he’s disappointed not to be in the team because he’s got a lot of pride but he picked up the pace of the game and did really well
ON GABRIEL OBERTAN
I know what he can do when he’s fully fit but for what we’re paying him there has to be some baggage and that baggage is getting him up to speed, but when he does we know what he is capable of doing.
ON ALEX GILBEY
It’s been hard work for him, a long hard slog, with little set-backs and starting again, but he’s had eight or nine days’ training on the bounce, a couple of 45 minutes in games and it’s building him up and hopefully tonight won’t drain him too much and he can still contribute at the weekend.
ON KEEPING GOING AGAINST BRISTOL CITY
We keep going, we’ve been in every game since I’ve been here bar the first one, we’ve drawn games we deserve to win. Lost ones where we should have got something and we’ve got to keep believing, keep having a method to the play and to adapt to the problems teams pose.
ON THE FANS AGAINST BRISTOL CITY
The supporters have been great. Last Saturday we didn’t do enough to warrant their support, tonight we did and the fans can go home happy. Now let’s have a big effort on Saturday.
